Rhynchonycteris Naso/Proboscis Bat, A3

Rhynchonycteris Naso er blot 6cm (inkl. 1,6 cm hale) lang og vejer ca. 4 gram.

Den er insektovor, men dens ringe størrelse gør den til et jævnligt offer for Arigiope Savignyi-edderkoppen.

Disse miniskule flagermus lever i kolonier, og når dagen gryer og det er sengetid, sætter de sig - usædvanligt nok - snude mod halespids i en snorlige række.

Rhynchonycteris Naso is only 6 cm (incl. 1,6cm tail) long and weighs around 4 grams.

It is insectovorous, but due to its small size it is often caught by the Arigiope Savignyi-spider.

These miniscule bats live in colonies, and when day breaks and bedtime calls, they sit - unusual - nose to tail in a ruler-straight line.
